In today's RG there is an interesting article in the business section that may or may not be coincidental. 'The ethics of business… and the business of ethics' by Martha Myron. While it does refer mostly to business ethics it still mentions political ethics… "Running a country is on a grander scale (to some extent) but really no different than that (of) a corporate entity."
By all appearances, there is a segment of our society in Bermuda that has either lost, or has never developed a personal code of ethical values. This should be something that any right thinking person in Bermuda should have great concern for. We the public have heard how a crime of 'theft' has occurred and have seen unprecedented action taken by the Police service to find the perpetrator, while leaving allegations and accusations of corruption and unethical behavior by top Government officials and associates UNANSWERED. We are told that as this is a four year old issue and we need to forget about it and move on. We even hear from other people, supporters of those alleged to have been mentioned in the leaked/stolen BHC files, actually acknowledge the unethical activity and encourage us all to ignore it.

As the article in the RG says… "…Politicians are implicitly charged to conduct themselves with due professional care, avoiding even the appearance of impropriety, standards that are even higher than professionals because of their responsibility (and their accountability) to their constituents."
Bermudians need to demand answers, and expect results.
